Strategist
Lauren Vargas, Director of Community Strategy at Aetna, is based in Boston, Massachusetts. Lauren is a multi-faceted communications professional with ten years of experience in community relations, internal and external corporate communications, and government affairs. She assists organizations with building sound objectives and strategies for listening and measurement, and helps them engage with the communities they serve by fostering authentic relationships built on trust through conversations and participatory media.
Educator & Speaker
As a former university adjunct professor, Lauren is also a frequent higher education speaker talking to public relations/marketing communications students about how to measure their efforts, set clear goals and learn how to use those metrics to make solid business decisions or test new ideas. She is passionate about teaching the next generation of communication professionals and blogs here and on the Radian6 blog, writing about integrating social media tools into communications, marketing and business strategy.
Storyteller
Lauren has a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations/Journalism from the University of Central Oklahoma and a Master of Science in Communications from Lacrosse University. Her love for reading, writing, scrapbooking, and spending quality time with her family fuels her professional life to new heights.
